SUMMARY Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality control and quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products. Establishes and maintains customer contact and response network and travels approximately 25% of the time periodically during the year by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component.
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
- Performs quality-engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
- Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
- Responds to customer inquiries and issues and develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality investigations.
- Communicates significant customer issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to customer management and all other applicable levels within the customer organization.
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience. Green or Black Belt preferred. Also prefer at least 4 years experience in manufacturing.

This position is responsible for internal and external audits, training associates in quality concepts, developing and utilizing quality measurement tools to analyze progress toward quality/customer satisfaction goals, and managing quality personnel at manufacturing locations in Omaha, NE and Harlan, IA. Qualified candidate will possess the following:- Certification in quality systems and internal auditing (currently ISO-9001-2008)
- Have extensive experience in a manufacturing environment
- Possess understanding of UL, CSA, ETL certification and recordkeeping requirements
- Have experience with external engineering standards
- Have worked in an environment with Government contract requirements
- Have working knowledge of project management principles
- BS in Manufacturing, Quality, Operations or Engineering or 5-7 years of equivalent experience

Position Summary:
As part of Quality Management, plan and conduct audits to ensure that toll manufacturers, vendors and in-house operations meet corporate quality standards and regulatory requirements. Provide audit expertise for Central Life Sciences. Monitor Vendor Certification Program.
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for auditing internal Central Life Sciences operations according to quality and regulatory requirements such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
2. Assist with auditing vendors/suppliers and toll manufacturers, (including masters and records).
3. Develop and implement methods and procedures for auditing.
4. Conduct on-going internal auditor training programs as necessary.
5. Participate in decisions made regarding certification of vendors.
6. Communicate the results of Quality Audits to management to make them aware of deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
7. Follow up on deficiencies including evaluating corrective and preventative actions and working with internal and external customers to ensure satisfactory results are achieved.
8. Responsible for keeping all audit documentation. Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or quality field with a minimum of 2 years auditing experience or high school diploma with a minimum of 5 years auditing experience and appropriate seminar experience. Should be familiar with all internal office systems. Physical Demands:
Normal office and manufacturing conditions. Must be agile as position requires periods on your feet, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs. May require extended period of time working on a personal computer. Mental Demands:
Must possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as oral and written communication skills. Personal and Professional Qualifications:
Should be familiar with auditing standards, Quality Systems and GMP guidelines. This position requires significant inter-departmental interaction and contact with field representatives, contractors and vendors. Must be working towards ASQ Certified Quality Auditor certification. Safety Hazard:
Normal warehouse and manufacturing conditions that may require safety equipment. Working with Hazardous Materials and EPA-regulated products. Working Conditions:
Works under regular office and manufacturing conditions. Some travel and overnight audit visits are required. Must be able to work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment with temperature ranges from 40º to 100º F Disclaimer Clause
