QC Technician

Central Life Science

Location: Council Bluffs

Measures of Success:

This position is responsible for Quality Control incoming inspection of raw materials, packaging components and contract manufactured finished goods.

  • Samples, inspects and evaluates incoming raw materials and packaging components in accordance with standardized procedures and current, approved specifications.
  • Samples, inspects and evaluates finished products from toll manufacturers in accordance with standardized procedures and current, approved specifications.
  • Approves or rejects raw materials, packaging components and finished product based on inspection results.
  • Writes Non Conformance reports when required
  • Maintains a complete database of all results from inspections performed. Creates and updates database sampling and inspection criteria as needed,
  • Performs in-process reviews of control records (PCR/MCR) for packaging / manufacturing compliance.
  • Assures timely release of product.
  • Maintains vendor Certificate of Analysis (COA), Certificate of Conformance (COC), test results and/or batch records.
  • Prepares quality management receiving inspection reports.
  • Samples raw materials for analytical testing. Must use required PPE when sampling chemicals.

Responsible for maintaining, storing, and retrieval of retention samples including chemical raw materials, in house, and third party finished goods.

Ideal Candidate Attributes

  • High School Graduate (Associate’s degree in a scientific or related field preferred).
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in quality or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to learn basic statistical analysis
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Working Conditions

  • Requires long periods on your feet, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
